Eternity
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sun rise.
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sun rise.
William Blake
I was laying in the grass in Central Park the other day. Brian was with me, which is somewhat rare on weekday evenings. The grass was so tall and lush. It was cool enough to be just so incredibly refreshing. The dogs were eating it and romping around. Brian and I were dashing around so they would chase us. They tend to bound like bunnies through tall grass because they're so low to the ground. It's very cute so we like to try and get them to do it.
While surveying the rest of the field I was struck with the beauty and happiness that existed in the moment. Brief euphoria with the person and dogs that I love. It was as if the surroundings existed just to be a beautiful thing to survey.
See the beautiful and happy things in every moment - don't cling too hard to happy moments of the past or happy moments you hope to experience in the future. You'll miss the beauty present in the moments happening right now or spend your time wishing those moments could last forever.
Carpe diem,
J
