and I NEVER have those mornings!!
When my alarm went off this morning I was immediately overwhelmed by the thought of getting up, getting dressed, getting dog bags, and walking the dogs the whole way to the Park, all around the loop, getting the leaves and debris off them....yahta yahta you get the picture.
My brain: "OMG I might as well be getting ready for a trip to the moon - I can't possibly manage this morning."
I snuggled the dogs for about 15 minutes and then I'll tell you what the answer is for those types of mornings.
ABROGATE all responsibilities and go out for breakfast.
Seriously.
And not one of those breakfasts where you grab it in a bag and then go eat it at your desk.
Go out and luxuriate and have people serve you tasty things.
I got up, walked the dogs around a few blocks, fed them, and then went to this place:
That's Gotham Coffee house. It's 3 blocks away. I went in, ordered a perfectly-brewed steaming hot cup of coffee and then one of these:
They have Balthazar pastries at Gotham. Enough said. If you know NYC, Balthazar is *the* spot to be. They have a cocoa cookie that people lose their minds over. The scone was so delicious and I just sat there in the blasting A/C cold and slowly enjoyed my scone crumble by crumble.
I am home now and the dogs will survive for one day of not having their big romp around in the Park. You have no idea how much better I feel right now. My attitude about the day has completely changed. I'm ready to go. RARING to go.
There's your lesson for the day - go luxuriate over breakfast somewhere and stare into space. There is almost no bad mood it cannot immediately fix.
Peace,
J
