F*CKING COLD

Good morning!  As my title says, it was f*cking cold out there today!  Here's proof!  The Conservatory Pond is FROZEN!  And here's the weather report:

13 degrees!  I was actually a little concerned when we walked out.  I've been walking out when Brian walks to the bus stop on 5th Ave instead of going early b/c I don't have to rush around to be at lab.  It's nice to get a little more sleep than usual, and I like starting our walk with Brian, but I don't get to see the sunrise anymore.  Lab will be starting up soon, enough, though so I should enjoy it while I can :)  Anyway, I was a little concerned because, first of all, Brian doesn't have a hat.  13 degrees isn't TOO bad but for any of you who have ever been to NYC, you know how windy it is here in the winter.  The wind whips off the river and then the buildings seem to concentrate wind tunnels between them.  So I was bothering him to get a hat, because honestly it's too cold without one.  He says he can't just go buy a hat, though, because it has to look good so he needs to plan what kind to get and try various hats on.  Until that occurs I'll just have to listen to him complain and occasionally cover his ears up with his gloves.  We looked at Sofie when we neared 5th Ave and she had little ice spots all over her muzzle.  So I don't know whether that's bad or not but she doesn't seem to mind.  In fact, in this cold she's EXTRA crazy and seems very frisky.  How do I know if she's gotten too cold?

She's off barking at the Mr. Coffee now - which tells me it's near done brewing.  It's time for me to have my coffee and cook some eggs before I start my day of reading & working.
