Central Park East - 7:05am

Good morning, good morning.  This morning Sofie found a wonderful piece of stick that she was on a mission to get home to the apartment so she could chew it into bits.  Unfortunately for her/fortunately for me right after this picture was taken a gigantic golden doodle named Rufus came and took it out of her mouth and ran away with it.  Rufus' owner was a flamboyant gay man who saw this as a grave injustice against little Sofie.  He reprimanded and scolded Rufus while Rufus ran happily around with the knot of wood.  Sofie ran after him, hoping he would drop it, but he did not.  Apparently it was a great knot of wood.  We humans would know nothing about that.  Rufus' owner exclaimed to me how sorry he was that Rufus had committed this atrocity to my poor sweet little dog and I told him it was quite all right and that I would have had to take it from her at some point any way.  Sofie promptly forgot about it after about 5 minutes when she realized that the dirt pile she likes to eat out of was coming up.
