My Traveling Companion

My traveling companion & I went to the East River Dog Park this evening (January 9th, 2012).  We got there around 4:25pm.  Her nose gets very dusty in the gravel over there.  As you can see, we found a very nice prize that she chased over & over again.
This is the view from the dog park at 5:05pm- you can see all the way down the side of Manhattan (this is facing downtown) along the East River.  Across the way is Roosevelt Island, which Cornell just bought via a nice gift from Mr. Feeny of the Atlantic Philanthropies.  He's in his 80's and became a billionaire from doing something related to duty-free shopping.  Either way, he gave us 350 billion and we are now building a Technology & Applied Mathematics campus on Roosevelt Island.  Isn't it amazing what people can get rich doing?
East River Dog Park - 5:15pm
I don't think I mentioned before that the bridge you can see goes from Manhattan to Queens, which is further past Roosevelt Island.  You can't see Queens in this picture, its behind Roosevelt Island.
East River Dog Park - 5:35pm
In case you didn't get this yet I was showing you the sunset from le dog parc this evening.  Hope you enjoyed!

This is also a view from the Dog Park.  If you turn completely (180 degrees) from the direction the previous pictures are taken, this is what you see.  Obviously pretty cool, The David Rockefeller University.  As is Cornell, they are one of the premier biomedical research facilities in the entire world.  They might be a little more premier even then us....(but don't tell anyone I said that).  Alas they rejected me when I applied there.  But it all turned out ok!
