The Couch - 9:05am
Good morning! I can't believe there's no picture today. While out on my walk Sofie met this very nice & crazy chocolate lab named Matilda and I ended up walking and chatting with Matilda's owner throughout the walk. I was so absorbed that I just completely forgot to take a picture - so i took one after we'd gotten home and I'd fed her - she gets sleepy on the couch then :)
Matilda was at first a little scary to Sofie. Matilda is one of those "psycho-labs." You know, the ones where when you let them off leash, they run all over the place as fast as they can, digging their claws into the dirt to speed them up when they change directions. Sofie went running up to Matilda sort of warily, because she always wants to say hello, but she was a little scared Matilda might kill her. As soon as Matilda noticed her, Sofie rolled over and was submissive so that Matilda could sniff her. (Sofie always does this when she meets a bigger dog). So Matilda sniffed her, then, as is custom, Sofie sniffed her. BANG - instant best friends. After this they ran all over the park together. Sofie barking incessantly in Matilda's face, Matilda chasing her under every park bench we passed. They were a match made in heaven. At one point Sofie picked up a small stick to carry around with her - Matilda plucked it right out of her little jaws and ran off with it - crunching it into a hundred tiny pieces. Needless to say it was a wonderful day in the Park for Sofie and her new friend.
