The House!
Good morning! Happy President's Day :) That doesn't mean much to anyone if they don't work anymore - but it's pretty sweet for those of us who do! I should clarify - I don't have off today. I'm actually going to go in after I post this. I did, though, take my sweet time this morning. Brian has off so we got up around 8 - rather than the usual 6:30 - and went to the Park. It was packed with dogs! Crazy busy. We got some coffee at the Kerbs Boathouse down by the Conservatory Pond. It was hopping with people getting breakfast and eating outside with their doggies.
After we got back, Brian made me the breakfast you see above while I was showering and getting ready :) I'm luckyyyy. Short-stack of Kodiak Cakes with butter and syrup. I was in Carb-heaven - they were even better than they look in the pictures. Sofie likes to sit on the arm of the couch next to the table so that she can be at eye level with the food. I gave her a little taste of syrup once I'd finished.
Now I'm off to work (It's 10:30). I have lab meeting at 12:30, then don't really have a whole lot to do until 4pm, when I'll get ready for the experiments that I'll do this week. When you work in a bacteriology lab, Mondays are usually for inoculating (growing) the bacteria that you'll use in the experiments for the remainder of the week. Other than that I'll just be preparing the plates (nutrient-rich gelatin in little round plates) for the bacteria to grow on during the experiments that I'll do. This means that I should do some reading, but more likely I'll read a paper, then read blogs online for the rest of the time.
Happy President's Day to me!
Have a wonderful President's Day yourself!
