Signs of Spring

Central Park East - 6:55am-7:15am

Good morning!  Just now when I was typing my "Tuesday February 21" thing, I started typing October 15th.  That's weird don't you think?  Why would my brain think October and why would my brain then think it's the 15th? I wish I could have better captured the Blue Jay party that I walked in on this morning in the Park.  There were about 4 of them flying back and forth from a tree to the ground to eat some birdseed.  I just love Blue Jays - so striking.  Every time they flew to the ground, Sofie charged in at them.  This picture was the best I could do :(

Anyway, after my nice easy day yesterday, I'm back at it this morning.  I tried to avoid it all Winter long, and I was beginning to think I'd make it, but it was not to be.  What am I talking about?  THE COLD!  I had a brief encounter with a horrible virus right around when my Dad came to visit (sorry, Dad for the super non-fun weekend), but aside from that I've had nothing.  Now...this is fairly unusual for me.  I mean, I tough it out, but I'm usually that person with serial colds all winter long starting in November and ending in February.  I'm just immunologically challenged.  Well this Winter I thought I'd make it, but nope.  I woke up with it this morning.

In contrast to my dismay at the cold this morning, I remembered that there is no class all week long because it's recruitment week!!!  HOORAY!  Seriously, that is fantastic.  The interviewees come on Wed., and leave on Friday.  On Thursday evening I am taking a group of them out for Mexican food at a place called Ofrenda (near NYU in the East Village I think).  It's hard to believe that last year at this time, I was a member of this group.  Anxiously awaiting the chance I couldn't believe I got to interview at a place like Cornell.  (I still kind of can't believe I'm here).

Have a wonderful, wonderful day!
