Central Park East - 7:15am

Good morning!  Took an extra-long walk in the Park this morning - did our loop 2x instead of one.  It was quiet, pretty, and unremarkable.  The only thing I've started noticing is that since there are more people out, there are more people that give Sofie treats.  I bring treats along to the Park, but I only give Sofie the littlest pieces of them, and only when she comes to me (She gets maybe 5-7 little biscuit fragments per walk).  Some people are just the biggest biscuit whores on the planet.  They come with a big bag full and give them out to every dog that comes running up.  Then what happens is that they become these epicenters of dogs.  They begin to look like those crazy people that feed the pigeons (don't get me STARTED on the pigeon feeders!). 

So, the problem with this is that Sofie remembers these people and runs up to them expecting a treat.  It annoys me because she gets a treat not only for doing nothing, but for behaving poorly.  She jumps up and claws at their leg with her little paws like a crazed treat maniac.  They think it's so adorable they give her a treat.  A lot of people call out to not feed their dog, but they always sound kind of Scroogey and unfriendly.  I think I may need to become one of these people soon because the feeders are essentially training Sofie to jump up, when I've worked fairly hard to get her to NOT do that!!

Have a wonderful day!  I'm particularly looking forward to spinning class tonight at 7pm!  In order to get into class I've been calling at 6:30am - since the class fills up by 7:45am - in order to get in.  The exclusivity makes me more in to it - I must admit it's true.
