Central Park East - 7:00am
Good morning! I told you - daffodils coming up, leaves unfurling, it's springtime! Sofie ran her 20th mile with me yesterday evening. She's a Super-Dog. People kind of look at me with 1 of 2 ways when I'm running with Sofie. One is that I'm some sort of dog-abuser. They look at her with pity like "how could that girl take that little dog on a run." Come on people - if your dog could be so lucky as to go running! Anyone who knows 1. dogs, or 2. joy, knows that Sofie is having a GRAND time on our runs. Tongue out, joyously galloping along, pulling my butt around the Park. The other side of the equation looks at her like it's the cutest thing they've ever seen in their life (I would concur).
After our runs we like to lay in the grass near the 72nd street entrance and Sofie licks the salt off my face and we relax/stretch for a little. Well yesterday this guy came over and startled me to give me a pamphlet about dog grooming at some posh Upper East Side dog spa. They give the dogs a "blueberry facial" during the baths, whatever that means. It was kind of awkward because I felt like he'd caught me having this intimate moment with my dog - like I was slightly embarrassed for him to see me shamelessly letting my dog lick my face.
Anyway, time to get ready for work!
Have a wonderful, wonderful day!!
